Stocks of main finished steel products in China up 2.4% in early August

On August 10 this year, overall domestic inventories of the five main finished steel products in 21 major cities in China totaled 9.64 million mt, up 230,000 mt or 2.4 percent compared to June 31, as announced by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

In particular, as of August 10, domestic inventory of hot rolled coil (HRC), common medium plate, wire rod and rebar amounted to 2.0 million mt, 0.98 million mt, 0.93 million mt and 4.5 million mt, increasing by 1.0 percent, 3.2 percent, 5.7 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively, though domestic inventory of cold rolled coil (CRC) totaled 1.23 million mt, down 1.6 percent, all compared to July 31.
