The Pennsylvania Department of Transit (PennDOT) announced that work was recently started on a project to rehabilitate three Cambria County bridges, located in District 9. This project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

The project includes removing and replacing the existing bridge deck. The project also includes any necessary roadway upgrades including approach work, guiderail upgrades, delineator replacements and new pavement markers. The project is expected to be completed by early January, 2011.

Within District 9, PennDOT will invest approximately $47 million of federal economic recovery funds on 21 transportation projects, which include road and bridge improvements and signal upgrades.
