Singapore based SSH Corporation Ltd (formerly known as Sin Soon Huat Ltd) has announced that it has secured three steel plate supply contracts with a total value of S$37.78 million (US$24.69 million) for projects in various parts of the world.

The largest of the three contracts, which amounts to S$29.82 million (US$19.49 million) in value, includes the supply of plates to Malaysia-based Sime Darby Engineering - contractor for Maersk Oil's Qatar Al-Shaheen Block 5 Phase 16 Development Project (a gas field in the Persian Gulf).

Of the two other contracts, one worth approximately S$4.38 million (US$2.86 million) is for high tensile steel plate supply to Netherlands-based Jackup Barge NV. These materials will be used for the construction of a four-legged jack-up rig on Batam Island in Indonesia.

World Wide Piping is going to use these materials to produce welded steel tubes for the construction of the central processing platform for the Conoco North Belut Oil Project, also located near Batam Island.
