Spanish consortium to develop green hydrogen production project for decarbonization

Spain-based seamless stainless steel pipe producer Tubacex has announced that a consortium of seven companies will jointly develop a research project called HY2DEC in relation to new technologies for the production and use of green hydrogen for the decarbonization of the Spanish carbon-intensive industries such as steel industry.

The consortium led by Tubacex encompasses six other Spanish companies, Torrecid S.A., Técnicas Reunidas S.A., Ghi Hornos Industriales S.L., Gecsa Conductores Y Conexiones Especiales S.A., Orchestra Scientific S.L., and Kerionics S.L.

The Hy2DEC project aims to respond to the challenges involved in the decarbonization of the industry through sustainable production and the use of hydrogen and green oxygen, and carbon capture.
