South Steel orders mill from SMS Meer and Concast

Saudi Arabian steelmaker South Steel-Pan Kingdom Invest Co. has awarded an equipment supply contract to Swiss-based Concast AG and SMS Meer (subsidiary of German-based SMS group), for the planning, engineering and supply of plant and equipment for a new mini-mill.

For the planned complex, Concast AG and SMS Meer will supply a complete mini-mill comprising a steel plant with an annual production capacity of 1,000,000 mt and a connected rolling mill for the production of 500,000 mt of rebars.
