Sollac Atlantique start up expected in 2005

In addition to the existing line with annual 550'000 mt capacity, Sollac Atlantique, the carbon steel flat product manufacturer under Arcelor Group, is planning to start production at its second 450'000 mt capacity hot dipped galvanizing line at Mardyck, France in April 2005. Reports state that the full capacity will be reached in 18 months from that date. The production of the line will supply unexposed parts to the automotive industry. According to reports, the existing line supplies galvanized material to Japanese automakers in France and the UK and the new line will supply Toyota's new plant as well.
