SMS Group to provide new wire rod outlet for Saarstahl

Germany-based plantmaker SMS Group has announced that German long steel producer Saarstahl has placed an order for a new wire rod outlet at its Neunkirchen works in order to react faster and more flexibly to the needs of its customers.

According to SMS Group's statement, the new wire rod outlet will be installed downline of the existing intermediate train stands and parallel to the present rolling line. The outlet consists of different cooling sections, while the loop cooling section is expected to be commissioned at the beginning of 2016, with the remaining equipment to begin production in the summer of 2016.
