In a statement on the issue, SMS Demag said that, as part of VSP's expansion project with its associated increase in production to 6.3 million mt, the supply of two X-melt ladle furnaces and of a 150 mt RH-TOP vacuum degasser for the production of high quality steel was also agreed.

The new melt shop is scheduled to go into operation in late 2009.
