Australia-based metals recycling company Sims Metal Management’s UK-based subsidiary Sims Metal Management UK has launched a dedicated scrap handling facility at one of the UK's largest port operators, Peel Ports’ London Medway port, according to media sources.

The London Medway facility, which is now fully operational, will have the capacity to handle 300,000 mt of scrap per year.

According to media reports, Paul Wright, the managing director of Sims Metal Management UK stated that the London Medway facility is ideally located to allow the company access to its core markets in Turkey, Europe, Asia and the US, as well as increase the volume of scrap it is able to handle.
