Siemens receives order from Shougang Iron & Steel

The Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group (I&S) announced today that it received an order from Chinese steelmaker Shougang Co Ltd for the supply of the electrical equipment for an annealing line and for two hot dip galvanizing lines. The deal, which is worth around Euro 20 million, includes the basic and process automation as well as all the drives. The processing lines are part of a new production complex currently being constructed in Beijing. The processing lines are scheduled to be operational by spring 2008. The new production complex will have an annual capacity of more than 1.7 million tons. The new strip processing lines include an annealing line with an annual capacity of 950,000 tons and two hot-dip galvanizing lines each with an annual capacity of 415,000 tons.
