Shanxi Province sees decreased coal output and sales in Aug

According to the statistics released by Shanxi Provincial Office of the State Administration of Taxation, in August this year, aggregate VAT of coal sector in Shanxi Province totaled RMB 3.1 billion ($491.8 million), down 31.6 percent or RMB 1.4 ($227.3 million) year on year and indicating the largest decrease since the latest three year.
 
In the given month this year, total raw coal sales volume from Shanxi Province to other Chinese provinces amounted to 45.5 million mt, decreasing by 15.5 percent on year-on-year basis. At the end of August, average sales price of coke stood at RMB 1,400/mt ($221/mt), falling RMB 250/mt ($39.5/mt) year on year and down RMB 50/mt ($7.9/mt) month on month.
