Coal outputs decrease in three major Chinese coal producing areas in July

According to China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), in July this year month-on-month decreases were witnessed in the coal outputs of the three major Chinese coal producing provinces, i.e., Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Inner Mongolia.
 
Accordingly, in July the coal outputs of Shanxi and Inner Mongolia amounted to 71.98 million mt, 83.97 million mt, down 16.4 percent and 5.2 percent month on month, respectively. Meanwhile, in the given month, Shaanxi Province saw a coal output decrease of 1,591,400 mt or 3.78 percent as compared to June.
 
As SteelOrbis previously reported, the 2012 coal production targets for Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi, are 810 million mt, 920 million mt, and 400 million mt respectively, according to the NDRC.
 
However, in the January-July period of this year, the coal outputs of Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi reached 530 million mt, 600 million mt and 250 million mt, up 10.2 percent, 13.3 percent and 11.2 percent year on year.
