China Coal Energy Co., a subsidiary of the Chinese state-run coal mining enterprise China National Coal Group Corp., has announced that it produced 9.06 million mt of coal in April, up 2.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-April, the company's coal output reached 37.82 million mt, rising by 8.8 percent year on year.
In April, the company sold 11.58 million mt of coal, up 2.1 percent, while in the first four months coal sales amounted to 46.28 million mt, up five percent, both year on year. In the given month, coal exports stood at 50,000 mt, decreasing by 28.6 percent, while they increased by 27.3 percent year on year to 280,000 mt in January-April.
Meanwhile, the company registered a 5.6 percent decline in coke output for April compared to the same month of 2011. In April this year, the company produced 170,000 mt of coke, while the coke output in the first four months amounted to 600,000 mt, down 10.4 percent year on year.
