Shandong to eliminate 2.8 million mt of crude steel capacity in 2017

The government of China’s Shandong Province has stated that 2017 is a crucial year for pushing forward capacity reduction and domestic supply-side reform and that it will move forward steadily in line with Chinese central government policy.
 
In particular, the Shandong government stated that in 2017 it will eliminate 3.87 million mt of pig iron capacity, 2.8 million mt of crude steel capacity and 3.51 million mt of coal capacity.
