Severstal starts zinc supplies from Europe

Severstal, one of the biggest Russian steel mills, has received its first zinc supply from Finnish company Boilen Kokkola Oy yesterday, August 2. Mr. Nechaev, the commercial director of the company, commented that zinc of that quality is used worldwide for production of HR sheets which are after used in auto industry. In choosing the suppliers, Severstal not only looked at chemical characteristics of the product but also considered the market situation. According to Mr. Nechaev, the offer of the Finnish company was the most beneficial in the economic sense. The concluded zinc supplies agreement would satisfy the needs of Severstal in zinc for at least half a year.
