Russia-based steelmaker Severstal has announced that during the first half of the current year it shipped approximately 90,000 mt of rolled metal products to Russian pipemaker TMK, which is more than the volume of shipments for the entire year in 2012.

At a meeting of the coordination council of TMK and Severstal, the representatives of the two companies discussed the potential implementation of a joint project to create a delivery management system between the two companies. The project will aim to streamline all business areas, such as logistics, commercial and technical, relating to the deliveries of rolled metal products to TMK plants in order to reduce financial and time costs.

The parties also discussed their participation in both ongoing and future projects to build main oil and gas pipelines over the next five years, as well as other ways to develop and strengthen the relationship between the two companies.
