Severstal produces new type of wire rod for nuclear industry

Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that it has started production of a new type of wire rod at Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant (CherMK), its largest asset, to be used in the nuclear industry.

Severstal-Metiz, which is the consumer and processor of the new product, has confirmed that the product fully complies with the requirements for metal surface quality and mechanical properties.

The development of new types of products allows the company to participate in major international projects.

The company plans to increase its presence in the segment in the future.
