Severstal issues 2006 production data

In 2006, Russian steel producer Severstal Cherepovetsk recorded a 2.3 percent increase in its crude steel production and a 2.2 percent increase in its finished steel products output year on year to 11 million metric tons and 10 million metric tons respectively. In addition, during the period in question the plant boosted its agglomerate output by 2.5 percent and its pig iron output by 2.8 percent compared to 2005. The Severstal Cherepovetsk plant's general manager Mr. Anatolyi Kruchinin commented that the massive investment programs implemented during the second half of 2006 were responsible for plant's impressive results.
