Salzgitter hikes plate price

German steelmaker Salzgitter is planning to hike price of steel plate by about €20/t. The price increase will be in effect in the second quarter of 2004. The company states that the price increase is in relation with the strong demand. Furthermore, the plate market reveals an increase compared to eight weeks ago.
