South Korea’s Trade Commission has announced that it has proposed to impose preliminary antidumping (AD) duties on imports of stainless steel bars from Taiwan and Italy.

The commission has decided that the cheap imports of stainless steel bars from Taiwan and Italy have seriously damaged the domestic industry; therefore it has proposed to impose provisional antidumping duties ranging between 9.68 percent and 18.56 percent for Taiwan and 11.02 percent and 13.08 percent for Italy. The country’s finance ministry is expected to announce its decision regarding preliminary duties within a month.

The products in question currently fall under HS Codes 7222.11.0000, 7222.19.0000, 7222.20.0000 and 7222.30.0000.
