Russia’s stainless steel imports up two percent in July

Russian imports of stainless steel products in July this year increased by two percent month on month and decreased by 11.7 percent year on year to 21,509 mt, according to Russia-based SpetsStal Association.

In particular, in July imports of stainless flat steel products decreased by 4.2 percent and import of stainless steel billets rose by 86.4 percent, while import of stainless steel long products increased by 14 percent, imports of stainless steel wire moved up by 11.6 percent, imports of electric-welded stainless steel pipes rose by 10.7 percent, all compared to the previous month.

In the given month, import of stainless steel seamless pipes increased by 102.7 percent, and imports of pipe fittings increased by 33.6 percent, both month on month basis.
