Russia’s industrial output to rise by 6-7 percent in 2010

Russia's industrial output is expected to increase by 6-7 percent year on year in 2010, Russian Minister for Industry and Trade Victor Khristenko has said, adding that in manufacturing industry the growth of industrial production "will be more than 10 percent, probably even more than 11 percent."

According to the data issued by the Federal State Statistics Service, in January-September 2010 Russia's industrial output increased by 8.9 percent year on year, with its manufacturing industry registering a growth of 12.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in September this year, the country's industrial output went up by 6.2 percent compared to September 2009, while rising by 1.5 percent compared to August this year.

Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Economic Development expects that in 2010 the country's industrial production will increase by 7.6 percent year on year. In 2009, this figure decreased by 10.8 percent year on year due to the crisis.
