Russian Railways: Steel product shipments up six percent in Oct

According to preliminary data issued by Russian Railways (RZhD), in October this year, as compared to the same month last year, steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by six percent, shipments of coke went up by four percent, shipments of iron ore and manganese ore rose by 3.3 percent, while shipments of coal decreased by 1.5 percent and shipments of ferrous scrap went down by 4.3 percent.

In January-October 2010, total shipments on Russia's railways increased by 9.3 percent year on year to more than one billion mt.
