Russian coal production up slightly in Jan-Mar

In the January-March period of the current year, coal production in Russia went up by 0.4 percent year on year to 85.85 million mt, including 28.75 million mt of coal produced in March, according to Russia's Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy sector.

Russian coal supply to the domestic market in January-March this year declined by 11.3 percent year on year to 43.72 million mt, including 14.18 million mt in March, down 10.4 percent year on year.

In the January-March period of the current year, Russian coal exports increased by 11.8 percent year on year to 35.94 million mt, including 12.12 million mt in March, up 3.4 percent compared to March 2013.
