As of March 1, 2011, Russia utilized 11.5 percent of its new steel export quota of 3,264,057 mt allocated to it by the European Union (EU) for the current year.
According to the latest figures, Russia exported a total of 376,938 mt of steel products to the EU in the current year up to March 1, including 342,763 mt of flat steel products (i.e., about 14.8 percent of the allotted 2,309,931 mt) and 34,175 mt of long steel products (i.e., 3.6 percent of the allotted 954,126 mt).
