Russia sees 6.5 percent increase in coal output in 2010

According to the data issued by Russia's Ministry of Energy, in 2010 Russia's coal output increased by 6.5 percent compared to 2009, rising to 320.92 million mt, of which 30.64 million mt were produced in December 2010 - down 0.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
 
Meanwhile, Russia's exports of coal in 2010 amounted to 97.42 million mt, registering an increase of 0.4 percent year on year. In December 2010, Russia's coal exports increased by 1.8 percent year on year to 7.89 million mt.
