Rig counts fall again in the US but continue to climb in Canada

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending December 7, the US rig count fell by 11 to 1,800, following a six-rig decrease a week ago. On a year-on-year basis, the US rig count is down 187 rigs. Rigs drilling for oil totaled 1,382, down four from last week, while gas rigs dropped by seven to 417.

Canada's rig count increased by seven to 406, but is still down 98 on a year-on-year basis.
