Rig count in US rises slightly week on week

US-headquartered oilfield services company Baker Hughes has reported that in the week ending September 13 the overall rig count in the US increased by one to 1,768. The rig count was down 96 from 1,864 rigs during the same week a year ago. The oil rig count dropped by four to 1,361, while the gas rig count increased by seven to 401.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count fell by nine in the given week to 380. The rig count was up 26 from 354 rigs during the same week a year ago.
