Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), one of Russia's leading coking coal producers, has announced the reorganization of ZAO Koksovaya, its new enterprise acquired in April 2010 which produces coking coal of K and KO grades, in the form of a merger with its subsidiary ZAO Raspadskaya‐Koksovaya.

Raspadskaya said that in 2011 total production volumes of valuable coal grades from the joint enterprise will amount to around one million mt.

"Inclusion of coking coal of K and KO grades (hard coking coal under international classification), of which there is a deficit in Russia, in the Raspadskaya production range will enable the company to strengthen its competitive advantages in current market conditions as well as in the future, taking into account the commencement of brownfield and greenfield projects in other coal mining regions in Russia," reads Raspadskaya's statement.
