Raspadskaya recommissions first after the May accident coal face

Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), the second largest coking coal producer in Russia, has informed of the commencement of the face 4‐9‐21 bis (seam No. 9), the first face to be recommissioned at its Raspadskaya mine after the accident in May 2010.
 
Accordingly, coal will be delivered with belt conveyors to the washing plant. Length of extraction panel amounts to 1,000 m, and length of the face amounts to 265 m. Production coal reserves total 623,000 mt.

"The key goals for 2011 are recommencement of production at all seams of Raspadskaya mine as well as maintaining competitive advantages of the company," Raspadskaya's CEO, Gennady Kozovoy said.

Raspadskaya invested in emergency work more than Ruble 5 billion ($163 million).
