The Port of Houston Authority announced Tuesday that the Port remains closed due to the power outage affecting much of the Houston area following Hurricane Ike.

Due to the lack of electricity, business operations at the Port of Houston will remain closed on Wednesday, September 17.

The Port says that it is continuing to work with CenterPoint Energy to establish power.

Earlier this week, the Port of Houston announced that based on preliminary assessments, its facilities only suffered limited negative impact from the storm.
