Plate production in South Korea to be increased

According to recent news in the market, South Korean steel producers are planning to increase plate production due to the strong demand for the product from local shipbuilders. Regarding the subject, South Korean steel giant POSCO announced that it will increase its plate production by 10.5% to around 3.3 million tons this year. Moreover, Dongkuk Steel Mills (DSM) has already stopped exports of steel plates to provide availability in domestic market.
