Peruvian iron ore exports increase nearly 50 percent in January

Peruvian iron ore exports increased 47.1 percent in January, year-on-year, to 1.2
million mt, according to data released this week by the nation’s central bank, BCPR.

According to BCPR, iron ore exports jumped 71.4 percent, month on month.

Peruvian average iron ore prices continued to decrease in 2015, BCPR’s data showed, with average prices falling 60 percent in January, year-on-year, and 9.8 percent month-on-month, to US$35.60/mt. In January 2013, the product’s price was US$88.60/mt.
