Peruvian iron ore export prices in June declined nearly 26 percent, month-on-month, reaching the lowest level so far in the year, according to data from the country’s central bank, BCRP.
Peruvian iron ore export prices have been on a declining trend since the start of the year. Prices reached $48.1/mt in January and then declined to $43.5/mt, $43.2/mt, $39.2/mt, $35.5/mt and $26.3/mt in the months of February, March, April, May and June, respectively, all FOB prices.
When compared to June 2016, Peruvian iron ore export prices in June 2017 rose 15.8 percent from $22.7/mt FOB.
Peruvian iron ore export volumes in June reached 1.1 million mt, down from 1.2 million mt in May this year, but up from 700,000 mt in June 2016.
