Peruvian news agency Andina reported Tuesday that Lima, Peru-based Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (Aceros) plans to invest $100 million at its Pisco plant, boosting production output by 69 percent from 800,000 to 1.35 million tons annually. The upgrade is expected to be completed by September 2013.
Aceros is the largest steelmaker in Peru, with production largely focused in the construction sector. Aceros produces rebar and wire rod, as well as tubing and flat-rolled steel products.
