The government of eastern Indian state of Odisha has approved the setting up of a ‘Stainless Steel Park’ to promote downstream value addition of stainless steel across product categories, a government official said on Wednesday, November 29.

The official said that the park project will entail an investment of around $110 million and will be implemented by Jindal Stainless Steel Limited.

The park will aim to house at least 71 small and medium-scale units to add downstream value to stainless steel through production of automobile parts, utensils, pipes and tubes, electrical equipment parts and stainless steel cold rolled products.
