Vancouver, Washington-based steel pipe manufacturer Northwest Pipe Company announced upgrades Monday to its Saginaw, Texas facility, a part of Northwest Pipe's Water Transmission Group. The expansion project includes a mill expansion that will increase the diameter and thickness ranges of spiral welded steel pipe from 96" x 5/8" to 126" x 1".

The improvement project also includes two new buildings, upgraded hydrostatic testing equipment, extended cement mortar lining capabilities and new inside and outside diameter paint equipment. Commencing in Q1 of 2012, the project is anticipated to take one year to complete.

"Completion of the Saginaw expansion will allow us to leverage our ideally situated proximity to Tarrant Regional Water District's planned Integrated Pipeline Project and give us expanded capabilities to serve additional water projects in the region," said Scott Montross, COO of Northwest Pipe Company.
