Washington-headquartered pipe manufacturer Northwest Pipe Company (Northwest) has announced the signing of a contract worth $6 million with Greater Vancouver Water District of British Columbia for the Seymour and Capilano Filtration Twin Tunnels Project.

Under the contract, Northwest will supply approximately 2,800 feet of 120" steel pipe to be manufactured at its Adelanto, California division, with delivery scheduled to begin in late 2009.

The Seymour and Capilano watersheds supply up to 70 percent of the Lower Mainland's drinking water. Construction of new water supply and treatment facilities for these water sources is underway in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR) and at Capilano River Regional Park.

In late September, the company announced the receipt of a $7 million order for the Tesla Treatment Facility Project for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.
