North American rig counts register fourth consecutive weekly gain

According the most recent report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending August 26, the US rotary rig count increased one from the previous week to 1,975. This reflects a year-on-year increase of 319 rigs.

Additionally, US oil rigs were up by three last week (up 397 year-on-year) and US gas rigs contracted by two (down 75 year-on-year).

The Canadian rig count is up by 22 in the last week and is now at 508, representing a year-on-year increase of 122 rigs.
