The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that in 2011 it plans to increase its investments to $2 billion to continue to implement projects within the scope of its technical upgrade program, which aims to increase crude and rolled steel output, raise product quality, improve production efficiency and increase the output of high value‐added products. In 2010, NLMK's overall сapital expenditure totaled $1.463 billion - up 31 percent year on year. The sum of organic investments made during the last five years is about $6 billion.
