New passenger car registrations in Turkey rise in October

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 86,333 units, increasing by 1.8 percent month on month and down 4.8 percent year on year.

New passenger car registrations in October totaled 47,250 units, increasing by 16.7 percent as compared to the previous month and up 6.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 54.7 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations in October, on the other hand, increased by two percent month on month and were down 14.1 percent year on year, amounting to 15,294 units. Small truck registrations constituted 17.7 percent of total registrations.

In the first 10 months of 2012, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 905,137 units, with a 12.6 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2011.
