According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK),
Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in September this year increased by 4.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was up by 11 percent over August this year.
In September, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in
Turkey decreased by 8.1 percent year on year, constituting the second consecutive month of year-on year decrease following the continuous year-on-year uptrend which had been observed since January 2010. Meanwhile, the industrial turnover index registered an 11.1 percent increase over the previous month. The industrial turnover index for fabricated metal products manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, recorded a slight rise of 0.6 percent year on year in September and increased by 23 percent from the previous month.
Meanwhile, in September this year, the industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 8.4 percent over August and was down 6.8 percent year on year, being the third month of year-on-year decrease following 30 months of uptrend. The industrial new orders index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, in September this year increased by 2.9 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and was up 11.4 percent compared to the previous month.
