Turkey’s industrial turnover index up 19% in November

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in November 2012 increased by 19 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In October, the first year-on-year decrease had been recorded since October 2009. The industrial turnover index in November was up by 8.4 percent from October 2012.

In November, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey increased by 13.7 percent year on year, following three consecutive months of year-on year decrease. Meanwhile, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals registered a 7.1 percent increase from the previous month. The industrial turnover index for fabricated metal products manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, recorded an increase of 15.8 percent year on year in November and rose by 10.7 percent from the previous month.

Meanwhile, in November last year, the industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 4.3 percent over October and was up 9.4 percent year on year, after four months of year-on-year decrease. The industrial new orders index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, in November last year increased by 18 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and was up 16.4 percent compared to the previous month.
