According to a statement released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, on November 24, the new industrial orders index in the European Union member states (EU-27) rose by 1.7 percent month on month in September, after a month-on-month rise of two percent recorded in August.
On the other hand, in September this year new industrial orders in the EU-27, excluding ships, railway and aerospace equipment for which changes tend to be more volatile, decreased by 17.5 percent year on year.
In the EU-27 in September, new orders for capital goods increased by 2.8 percent, new orders rose by two percent for non-durable consumer goods, increased by 1.8 percent for intermediate goods and fell by 0.2 percent for durable consumer goods, all compared to August.
