Gu Dawei, director of the overseas investment department of China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), has stated that China will increase cooperation with Latin American countries in manufacturing industries, in addition to existing fields of cooperation.

Mr. Gu said that China and certain countries in Latin America have initiated cooperation in the areas of infrastructure, energy, mining resources, processing of minerals, and in the steel industry.
