Mittal Steel’s steel shipments to increase

Mittal Steel, which is expected to merge with International Steel Group Inc. by the end of the first quarter, announced that it projects to report 57 million tons of steel shipments for 2004 on a pro-forma basis. In addition, the company will post pro-forma $6.8 billion to $7 billion of operating earnings in the same period. For 2005, Mittal said it expects pro-forma shipments of approximately 62 million tons with an increase of 8.8% over previous year. Furthermore, the pro-forma operating income will be similar to last year.
