Mexico’s iron pellet production down 19.1 percent in April

Mexican iron pellet output in April declined 19.1 percent, year­ on ­year, to 540,027 mt, according to data released on Thursday by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi.

On month-on-month basis, iron pellet production slightly rose 0.31 percent in April.

Inegi said the country’s mining and metals production index fell 1.7 percent in April, on month-on­-month, and 6.1 percent in the year-on-­year analysis.

Mexico’s iron pellet production in cumulative period of January to April diminished 18.1 percent, year on year, according to Inegi’s data.
