Mexico’s iron pellet production declines 4.5 percent in August

Mexico’s iron pellet output in August declined 4.5 percent, year-on-year, to 611,921 mt, according to the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi.
 
Iron pellet production was stable on a month-on-month basis, slightly declining from 612,112 mt in July.
 
Mexico’s mining and metals production index in August rose 2.2 percent, month-on-month, but declined 6.1 percent in the year-on-year basis.
 
Mexican accumulated iron pellet production in the eight-month period from January to August fell 10.5 percent, year-on-year, according to Inegi’s data.
