Mexico’s economic activity 2.5 percent up in January

Mexican economic activity in January rose 2.5 percent, year-on-year, according to information released this week by the country’s statistics agency, Inegi.
 
The country’s economic activity also improved in the month-on-month analysis, reaching a 0.3 percent growth, when compared to December’s data.
 
Inegi said primary and tertiary activities in January grew 11 and 3.6 percent, year-on-year, respectively, while secondary activities in the same period dropped 0.3 percent.
 
Primary activities in January increased 4 percent, month-on-month. Secondary and tertiary activities in January reached the same growth, both increasing 0.1 percent, month-on-month.
