Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, announced on Thursday it has imposed definite anti-dumping (AD) duties over the imports of Chinese welded tubes of different shapes.

The AD duties cover circular, square or rectangular steel tubes. SE didn’t set a specific timeline for the levies.

The Mexican government said tube imports from Huilitong will pay a $0.5/kg or $506/mt duty, while Tangshan, Youfa Dezhong, Youfa Steel No. 1, Youfa Steel No. 2 and all other Chinese exporters will pay a $0.6/kg or $618/mt duty.

Similarly, Huludao should pay a $0.3/kg or a $356/mt duty while United is entitled to a $0.5/kg or $537/mt duty.

The products subject to the AD duties fall under the HTS codes 7306.19.99, 7306.30.01, 7306.30.99 and 7306.61.01.

The duties following a probe started on December 2016, following a request from local producers Forza SPL, Pytco SA and Tuberia Laguna.
